Cascade Collision… The worst body shop i’ve ever been to!

I was rear ended with some minor damage to my car, bumper needed replacing and a fuel filler neck.  (Each time I filled my tank over half it would leave a puddle of gas!)

So the insurance said start on a Monday- I took my car in with an almost completely empty tank in case they needed to drop the tank. After a week’s worth of work they showed me pictures of them fixing the bumper and that was it.  Joe the manager at Provo walks me over the car telling me they dropped the tank, replaced the filler neck and replaced the bumper. The bumper looked fantastic!  My car was clean and vacuumed out and it looked great during pick up.

I drive from the Provo store literally 150 feet to fill the tank… and it still leaks gas!  I call them immediately, The manager Joe Beal’s tells me to bring it right back and they will fix it.

Something that goes from a “20-30 minute job” goes to 4 hours all together!  I miss half a day’s worth of work with zero rental car for something that should have been fixed the first time…   Joe comes back tells me it was a seal at the top that had ripped when they had replaced it. Even shows me the seal… However in the insurance estimate it says all seals were replaced with the neck. So he tells me to call him up when I fill the tank again and if it leaks let him know.

Impressed with how quickly they had helped me l wrote a letter to Dan a co owner at Cascade about how great I thought they were!

Well about 4 days later I call him up again from a chevron with again a tank that is leaking gas when I fill it! He tells me to bring it back in and he’ll take care of it.

At this point I am working full time and a student full time… I don’t have time to waste another half a day for something that should have been fixed the first time.

So I call the other Co Owner James, and he agrees to get me a rental car for the time it is out.

On 6/8/2009 I took my car in for the 3rd time of getting fixed to the Orem store.

My car came back with 10 dollars cash missing from the glove box, mud shoes inside the interior, and a still leaking gas tank when filled.

They had my car for 4 days and didn’t even vacuum it out or wash it…

I called James again, left him a voicemail about how disappointed I was with the service and how surprised the way I got my car back!

I got called by Joe Beal’s again, who after a 5 minute conversation explained  I could either bring it back down to Provo and be without a car while it got fixed or live with it.

I then asked if I could get a refund for the work that had not been done correctly or finished. He then told me “everything that had been done is now outside of what the accident damage was done and would be coming out of their pocket… and he would be glad to charge me for it!”  Shocked I explained the point of insurance was to bring me back to the point of where I was before the car hit me.   My car didn’t leak till after I was hit…  which should be covered under insurance and even if it wasn’t why didn’t they check that the first time and inform me of the situation?

Bottom line is -  I am still stuck with a car that leaks.. out 10 bucks and have no help from cascade as of yet.

- I have written the owners and will update if they respond.

Personally my warning is DO NOT EVER EVER TAKE YOUR CAR TO CASCADE COLLISION! In my experience they don’t check their work and there are plenty of other body shops like MARTINS http://www.martinscollision.com will go out of their way to help you out and do the job right the first time. They offered a huge help after I told them my experience with cascade! Don’t be fooled by the signs! Cascades customer service sucks!

Cascade and Collision refusing to fix my car and theartening me to pay for it… WTF?

To whom it may concern,

I have just gotten off of the phone with Joe Beals who has accused me
of going behind his back to get my car fixed.
I am very surprised by his statements on the phone of me leaving
“nasty voice mail messages” and “sneaking around his back”. I feel
that I was very clear that my car was leaking gas after the
accident… After 2 estimates from the insurance and your own adjuster
looking at it if gas tank sender unit or filler neck was the issue was
leaking after the accident. Both times I was told from both adjusters
that if other damage was done in the accident or found that it would
be reported to myself and the insurance company.   I am extremely
surprised at how the job was never truly tested to see if the leaking
gas was corrected at Joe’s Provo store the first time, after having it
for a week and finishing the car “earlier than expected”! And now he
feels I went “go around his back” after. I lost faith in his “Just
bring it back down so I can look at it!”. I was under the
understanding that all cascades worked together, and if one was easier
for the customer to get to it was acceptable to take it there. I am
sorry that he was personally offended by my actions. However I did
take it to Provo a 2nd time for a job that I was told would be “20
minutes” and was there for a couple of hours with my job wondering
where I was…I was forced to miss a half days of work for a job that
should have been fixed.  what was taking so long…and still had a
leaking gas problem… The work wasn’t checked the first time and now
I (the customer) am the one paying for it. I work full time and go to
school full time.  I cannot afford the time to bring my car back down
to a shop in Provo who I feel cannot get the job correct and fixed.

I am extremely disappointed in the lack of communication and customer
service I have received.
As far as I last understood it this is a business, and the customer is
profit the employee’s are over head. I, the customer can get my car
repaired anywhere. I went with cascade because of the customer service
and now going on almost 2 months without my car being fully fixed. I
have almost lost all faith in your company. I got my car back from
Orem with a car that still leaks and mud prints in my driver side
carpet, 10 dollars cash missing from my glove box, it wasn’t cleaned
or vacuumed… A huge disappointment for me.

And after this current last converstation on the phone with Joe and
no real option except for me to “Just bring it back down so I can look
at it”  Or “How about we send the check back to insurance and I issue
the bill to you for everything we’ve done.” Joe made it very clear
that he would be sending this back to the insurance to let them figure
out what they want to do. I called bristol west and they explained
that it was between me and the body shop. If the job wasn’t finished I
should take actions with the BBB or pursue other actions.

Please let me know what if any other options for me.

Sean Johnson

Lucasarts

Recently I had a very bad experince with a game. So bad in fact I mailed the game back to the creators of the game. Below is a copy of the letter I mailed back with my copy of the game.

Dear Mr. Lucas,

I write you as a huge fan of your work, as well as a loyal customer of LucasArts.
As you may have already noticed I have sent you my recently purchased copy of Star Wars The Force Unleashed for the Xbox 360. I am mailing you this copy because of how absolutely shocked and upset as well as frustrated I became with this game. To give you some background…

I literally grew up with a 486 SX playing X-wing, Tie Fighter, Rebel Assault, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Monkey Island etc… etc… After going on the Disneyland Starwars ride my father actually bought an X-wing Fighter Top Ace hat for us to wear while playing X-wing! I was so excited to hear about The Force Unleashed I preordered my copy, took 2 days off from work to play this game.
I got home and within 5 hours on Sith Lord difficulty I found numerous glitches within the game.

First I must say shocking Jawa’s is one of the most satisfying experiences I’ve had in gaming!
1.) Using Force Grip on a Box and pulling it into a doorway made the box disappear from the screen. You could still use to box but could not see it.
2.) At any boss fight if you kill the boss to quickly you never get cut screens to move on with the game locking you into the boss fight zone. This is best demonstrated with the Boss Proxy in the game. I managed to kill him 26 times in 2 days and was finally able after slowing down my approach on the boss was finally able to get to a cut screen. ( I have attached a picture of what I am talking about) After contacting LucasArts about the issue… I was told they do not give out game hints and the 1900 number doesn’t work anymore. (12 hours later to get told they won’t help me!)

3.) Falling off a cliff into a death zone and never dying. Repeatedly I was able to do this on almost every level of the game.

4.) Game Locks and Freezes. I played this game on every single one of Xbox 360’s and over and over again on the screen with pulling the Star Destroyer down it would lock and crap out. I thought perhaps it was my copy and exchanged it…. Same problems. There are 4 Xbox’s in my house… It’s not any consoles!

5.) No Multiplayer. How in this next gen version of gaming can you send out a game with Zero multiplayer not even co-op mode? For a game that has JUST a story to leave out the ability to have other friends help me in the fight or even fight against them is a very very poor one! Take a look at all of the biggest blockbuster games out there. Halo, Gears of War, Metal Gear Solid, Mario each one of them has a multiplayer mode.

6.) Game Felt Old. If you pick up a copy of Jedi Knight 3: Jedi Academy and use nothing but force powers… You pretty much have this game with a different story, less impressive graphics but have multiplayer so can spend hours and days slaying other Jedi and playing the game!

When a gamer looks to purchase a game they use 4 things to justify spending 60 dollars on a game. They are
1. Storyline - (you nailed it the story was fantastic!)

2. Graphics - (Also great I give major Kudos!)

3. Game play - (The targeting system was sometimes annoying and frustrating to use! The D pad could have been used to allow a player to quickly switch between targets if the player didn’t like what was being targeted.)

4. Replay Value - (THE GAME HAS NONE! NADA! NO MULTIPLAYER IN THIS VERSION OF THE GAME! They added it to the Wii and the PSP,DS that are the cheapest to purchase a copy of the game for… but the guy spending a full 60 dollars get less options? That is a slap in the face!)

If you need me to test your games out and give you a straight honest gamers opinion I don’t mind telling you if it sucks or not! Please feel free to contact me. I’ve loved LucasArts games in the past in fact I can call any one of my siblings up and say “You fight like a cow!” and they will laugh and respond with “How Appropriate you fight like a dairy farmer!” . I am writing you this letter and carbon copying this to the President of Lucasarts and Producer of the game in hope that sending my game back will send a strong signal that LucasArts is losing its touch and I wasted 60 dollars on a game that in my opinion never should have been shipped in its condition. I did want to thank you for at least giving me another section in the Starwars Universe you’ve built and cared so much about that I have loved growing up in and have truly enjoyed.

Sincerely,
Sean Johnson
