Cascade Collision… The worst body shop i’ve ever been to!
I was rear ended with some minor damage to my car, bumper needed replacing and a fuel filler neck. (Each time I filled my tank over half it would leave a puddle of gas!)
So the insurance said start on a Monday- I took my car in with an almost completely empty tank in case they needed to drop the tank. After a week’s worth of work they showed me pictures of them fixing the bumper and that was it. Joe the manager at Provo walks me over the car telling me they dropped the tank, replaced the filler neck and replaced the bumper. The bumper looked fantastic! My car was clean and vacuumed out and it looked great during pick up.
I drive from the Provo store literally 150 feet to fill the tank… and it still leaks gas! I call them immediately, The manager Joe Beal’s tells me to bring it right back and they will fix it.
Something that goes from a “20-30 minute job” goes to 4 hours all together! I miss half a day’s worth of work with zero rental car for something that should have been fixed the first time… Joe comes back tells me it was a seal at the top that had ripped when they had replaced it. Even shows me the seal… However in the insurance estimate it says all seals were replaced with the neck. So he tells me to call him up when I fill the tank again and if it leaks let him know.
Impressed with how quickly they had helped me l wrote a letter to Dan a co owner at Cascade about how great I thought they were!
Well about 4 days later I call him up again from a chevron with again a tank that is leaking gas when I fill it! He tells me to bring it back in and he’ll take care of it.
At this point I am working full time and a student full time… I don’t have time to waste another half a day for something that should have been fixed the first time.
So I call the other Co Owner James, and he agrees to get me a rental car for the time it is out.
On 6/8/2009 I took my car in for the 3rd time of getting fixed to the Orem store.
My car came back with 10 dollars cash missing from the glove box, mud shoes inside the interior, and a still leaking gas tank when filled.
They had my car for 4 days and didn’t even vacuum it out or wash it…
I called James again, left him a voicemail about how disappointed I was with the service and how surprised the way I got my car back!
I got called by Joe Beal’s again, who after a 5 minute conversation explained I could either bring it back down to Provo and be without a car while it got fixed or live with it.
I then asked if I could get a refund for the work that had not been done correctly or finished. He then told me “everything that had been done is now outside of what the accident damage was done and would be coming out of their pocket… and he would be glad to charge me for it!” Shocked I explained the point of insurance was to bring me back to the point of where I was before the car hit me. My car didn’t leak till after I was hit… which should be covered under insurance and even if it wasn’t why didn’t they check that the first time and inform me of the situation?
Bottom line is - I am still stuck with a car that leaks.. out 10 bucks and have no help from cascade as of yet.
- I have written the owners and will update if they respond.
Personally my warning is DO NOT EVER EVER TAKE YOUR CAR TO CASCADE COLLISION! In my experience they don’t check their work and there are plenty of other body shops like MARTINS http://www.martinscollision.com will go out of their way to help you out and do the job right the first time. They offered a huge help after I told them my experience with cascade! Don’t be fooled by the signs! Cascades customer service sucks!
